As I left work yesterday, a co-worker made a small comment that to her was probably no big deal but to me it changed my outlook. It had been a long day and I had been at work for almost 10 hours…add to that over 3 hours in the car and long doesn’t even begin to describe it. It had been a good day though, very productive. I was happy to be heading home but also commiserating with my co-worker about what a long day it had been. She said, “Go home and enjoy your kids!” So, that’s what I did. I picked my boys up from grandma’s and I went home and just enjoyed them. The Pecan was cooing and gurgling and the Almond and Walnut were happy as clams to have leftover pancakes for dinner. We hung out on the couch and waited for dad and big sister to get home and then we did random stuff until bedtime. I took time to read plenty of books to the kids and to just take a moment to reflect on how much I really enjoy my kids when I take the time to focus on them instead of the million other things that need to be done. So, thanks, Pat, your small comment had a big impact and I’m going to do my best to keep that in the back of my mind. Your words were a blessing to me and my family. Thank you!

Good for you K.T., good for you, and sometime this summer when it is really hot outside, give them each a big hug and tell them it is from Santa.
